Study in Armenia

Armenia is an Ancient and Modern country. Republic of Armenia is one of the oldest countries in the

world and it is partly situated in Eastern Europe. Yerevan is the capital of Armenia. Population approx 3.8 million Currencies is AMD (Armenian Drams).The climate of Armenia is highland continental, dry with four seasons. Temperatures can vary considerably between seasons. The summer is generally pleasant reaching 35 degree, though in the Ararat valley temperature may reach up to 40 degree. Winters are cold dipping to 5 degree below zero. Autumn is considered as the finest season with abundance of fruits, warm and velvety weather. Mountainous areas receive the most precipitation in the form of rain and snow. The most arid region of the country is along the Araks River. Today Armenia is becoming an integral part of Europe. Armenia is already a part of European economic area, European council, European Economic Community, European Neighborhood Policy.
The higher education system in Armenia is presented by a number of higher education institutions, both state and private.
State higher education institutions operate under the responsibility of several ministries but most of them are under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Science. In total there are 26 state higher education institutions, of which 16 with their 14 branches belong to the system of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES); 4 HEIs founded by interstate agreements and state participation, and funded by the MES; 2 HEIs in the system of the Ministry of Defense; one higher education institution in the system of each of the following Ministry/Bodies: Police, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Mother See of Holy Etchimiadzin.
Higher education is provided by many types of institutions: institutes, universities, academies and conservatory.

Visa
Visas are required by all except:
(a) nationals continuing their journey within 72 hours, provided remaining in the airport transit lounge
and holding all documents required for the next destination and confirmed onward ticket.
(b) Argentine Republic, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, France, Hungary, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Uzbekistan citizens.
Visitor visa entitles a foreigner to enter the Republic of Armenia and stay in the country for up to 120 days. A visitor visa may be issued for single or multiple entries (within up to a year period). A foreigner with a transit visa may stay in the Republic of Armenia for no more than 3 days during each stay.
Usually visa is processed at the diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Armenia upon the completion of 3 working days. In some cases additional checking can be required and processing time can be extended.

·         Two Passport size photograph (Black and White or Color)
·         Application Fee.
·         Two completed and Signed application forms.
·         Proof of Sufficient Funds
·         Letter of introduction from college or university

Work
Wages are very low in most sectors, but there is a ton of NGO and volunteer work going on. NGOs have bloomed everywhere – international relief agencies are well represented, and there are many local and diaspora bodies as well, covering everything from health to the environment to teaching.

Most churches are open 9 am to 6 pm daily, though in winter you might have to wait a while for the key to appear. Government offices and international organizations usually work 9 am to 5 pm weekdays. Fairs and markets open daily. Museums and galleries often close Monday. Shops are usually open 9 am to 7 pm, or 10 am to 10 pm. Bank opening hours vary but are usually 9.
